I never understood why everyone said they were “chasing after a toddler.” And then I had a kid.

I never understood how someone could not shower every day. And then I had a kid.

I never understood why parents hated breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack time. And then I had a kid.

I never understood what a luxury sleep is. And then I had a kid.

I never understood why a rainy day is the worst day. And then I had a kid.

I never understood that coffee was its own food group. And then I had a kid.

I never understood why eating in the pantry/bathroom/anywhere your child is not was a thing. And then I had a kid.

I never understood just how much of a hair trigger tantrums are operating on. And then I had a kid.

I never understood just how annoying whining is. And then I had a kid.

I never understood how something you love so much could make you drink so heavily. And then I had a kid.

Cheers.
