Back Home Again in Indiana
I realize we still have two full weeks until Christmas, but as a planner I’m already thinking about New Year’s resolutions. Of course, as a sucker for self help/personal development/whatever you want to call them books, I prefer the word “goals” over “resolutions”, but we all know it’s the same thing. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned from this genre over the years, it’s to focus on one goal at a time. I thought about setting a small goal for 2019 – something I could easily achieve by January 2nd so I spend the rest of the year feeling like a champion – but then I figured if I’m going to do this, I may as well do it right. And that’s why my big goal for 2019 is for Jesse to turn me into a kept housewife (with a nanny of course).
I have so much I want to accomplish as a kept housewife from morning Pilates to weekly manicures. . .and we can’t forget turning the Fashion Mall into my second home. Of course I’ll also make time for menial tasks like chaperoning Boogser’s school field trips and hiring a maid so I actually have clean bathrooms for a change. And those last two are how you know just how serious I am about this life goal because it’s not just about me, it’s about my family.
As a kept housewife I’ll have so much more time for the important things like making dinners my family mostly disdains, finally figuring out what size clothes to buy Jesse, and finding matching family pajamas for every season. I’ll finally be able to devote my time and talents to this blog, Instagram, and other things that do absolutely nothing to benefit my family. 2019 will be the year I become well rested, well attired, and well versed in etiquette. Now someone just needs to tell my husband what’s happening.
