Today’s my first day of “vacation”, and so far I’ve been to workout, Kroger, cleaned the bathroom, done some dinner prep for the week, taken the trash out, vacuumed, and my 3rd load of laundry is in the washer right now. I still have one more load of laundry to go and need to do some last minute wrapping and pack for my parents’. I don’t recommend this lifestyle. Someone teach me to be chill.
We went to Breakfast with Santa last weekend (please note our matching ugly Christmas sweaters), and this kid once again walked right up to Santa, gave him a high five, and sat right on his lap proving that he will forever be braver than his mother. Boogs was pumped to see Santa and told us for the rest of the day about how great it was until about 5:30 that night when he switched to telling us, “He didn’t say ‘ho ho ho’”. Santa said “ho ho ho” at school yesterday, though, so I think they’re back on good terms.
Speaking of school, they had a North Pole animal show the other day, and Boogs kissed a reindeer. An actual live reindeer. The hell kind of school are we sending this kid to??? (Other than awesome.)
I made a Christmas playlist on Amazon Music, and I have to say, Christmas in Hollis has to be the most underrated Christmas song ever. Followed closely by Santa and His Old Lady and Dominick the Donkey. Dominick’s getting more respect as the years go on, though, so I may have to take it off the Neglected Christmas Song list before too long.
It’s December 21st and I still haven’t made a single batch of Christmas cookies. At this point I’m torn between making some Christmas Eve and just not telling Boogs about leaving cookies for Santa. Maybe we could be the house that leaves him pita chips and hummus? Maybe a cheeseboard? I feel like Santa would be down with a cheeseboard.
